Old and Modern Fusion: 3 Home Styles That Fit ProVia® Doors

At WMGB Home Improvement, we discuss residential architectural styles that work with our ProVia doors.

Georgian Style

Inspired by the symmetry of Renaissance architecture, the Georgian style home was the first major style to come to America. You can usually recognize a Georgian style home by its door and window placement, thanks to its penchant for symmetry. The front door is usually smack dab in the middle with the same amount of windows on both sides. Despite its aged roots, however, modern Georgian architecture now mixes with other kinds of homes so if you want to install a ProVia patio door, it won’t exactly be out of place.

Cape Cod Style

Cape Cod style houses usually have low ceilings with a chimney and, like the Georgian style, incorporate symmetry into its windows. Because modern Cape Cod homes take inspiration from contemporary architecture, a ProVia door won’t stick out like a sore thumb.

Craftsman Style

The Craftsman style emerged due to the desire to move away from Victorian architecture. It actually fell out of favor after the Second World War before re-emerging in the 1990s. Today, it has developed to suit modern tastes so a ProVia door can and will definitely suit a Craftsman style home.
