There’s a slight chance that you’ve probably already seen glass block windows, but you didn’t know what they were called. Glass block windows are windows that not only allow you to let natural light into your home, but also provide you with privacy and a fashionable design statement at the same time. The only drawback to this window type is it prevents fresh air from getting in seeing as how it’s designed to be airtight.

Sprucing Up Your Home With Glass Block Windows

In this post, WMGB Home Improvement discusses all the styles of glass block windows and where in your home you can use them.

Wavy Glass Block

This type of glass block is the most popular due to its undulating pattern. It lets in the maximum amount of lighting while being able to maintain your privacy at the same time. While it blends well with most decors, this type is commonly used for basement windows.

Clarity Glass Block

Seeing as it’s mostly used for kitchen windows, the clarity type provides as clear a view as a regular window would. They provide the maximum amount of light but don’t offer privacy.

Ice Glass Block

This type of glass block windows is similar to the wavy glass block just with improved privacy and lighting. You will be able to see shadows, of course, but the design makes it incredibly difficult to make out what you are seeing. Perfect for your bathroom windows since they allow you to see that someone is occupying it while saving you from the embarrassment of walking into someone using it.

Diamond Glass Block

A different pattern on its own, this style provides the privacy you need but not a lot of light transmittance. This type is also used for bathroom windows.
